Recipe for a good friend

This week, the children have been thinking about what qualities make a good friend. These qualities and values are ones that we passionately seek to nurture and encourage at School.
Here are the children's thoughts:

Telling your friend not to be upset when they are sad.
Harry

A friend shares things with you.
Charlie

A good friend doesn't talk about you behind your back.
Luke

A good friend is caring and grateful.
Eshel

A good friend helps you when you are stuck.
Esther

If someone is lonely, a friend says that they can play.
Seb

A good friend cares about someone who has been hurt and is upset.
Ben

A good friend listens.
Manveer

If you look closely, you can just make out our class Friendship display. What super friends they are!

Volcano Art

Children in Years 3 and 4 have had a great art lesson this week.  They have used all of their knowledge and skills from the previous weeks to mix their own warm and cool colours to create their very own volcano art. Great work!

Ukulele skills

Mrs Shevells and I are very pleased to be able to share these photos of the children practising the ukulele. Their concentration is spot on and that they are enjoying themselves is very clear. We look forward to hearing our budding musicians performing in the not - too- distant future!

Clay Model Volcanoes

Year 3 have had a great start to the day, by creating their own model volcanoes using clay.  They thought carefully about the features of a volcano, both inside and outside.

Roald Dahl Day

Well done to Year 3 children for their imaginative costumes. It's been a delight to have Willie Wonkas and Matildas in the classroom. The children were captivated by listening to some of Dahl's story, 'The Magic Finger'.

Here are the children in our themed Roald Dahl Day assembly this morning.

Well done to Year 3 children!

The children have been adjusting very well to the new routines of Year 3 and are already rising to new challenges in their learning.

I would like to especially welcome Charlie, who is new to Teesside High School, to Year 3.

I thought that you would enjoy these photos of the children being allocated to a new House group in a Harry Potter style!

Welcome to Year 3

I am very much looking forward to hearing the children's stories about their summer holidays and to welcoming them to Year 3.

It will be lovely to see you all!
